KENT PROBATION © 2010
Easy Read Version
Public protection and reducing re-offending are key objectives for both the Ministry of Justice and the National Offender Management Service. Managing risk is at the heart of all Kent Probation's work. We target out resources where we will have the biggest impact by focussing on those who pose the highest risk (the most dangerous) and those who commit many offences (the most prolific).Kent Probation staff work with offenders to ensure the sentence imposed by the court is carried out. Supervision is one of the most common requirements of a community order. It means the offender must attend regular appointments with their offender manager. During these sessions, offenders will be challenged in their attitudes, behaviour and lifestyle. We help them to make changes to stop offending.Offender may also have to carry out other tasks imposed by the court. These are known as requirements.
