DIVERSITY

Kent Probation published its Single Equality Scheme in March 2009. It is a 3 year plan through to 2012 and will be annually reviewed. Previously we had separate Schemes in relation to Race, Disability and Gender, all designed to demonstrate how as a Probation Area we are meeting the general and specific duties in the legislation. We took the opportunity afforded by the requirement of the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) to combine these into a single scheme to cover our work on age, sexual orientation and religion & belief as well. The Single Equality Scheme brings together achievements already made and objectives for the immediate future. It turns the aspirations set out in the Diversity Strategy into solid plans with owners and timescales. It will be built into the over-arching Business Plan for the year ahead and subsequent years to come. In addition to publishing on the website, Kent Probation is sending copies of both the Single Equality Scheme and the Diversity Strategy to organisations we work with.Click Here to view the Single Equality Scheme Updated October 2009Click Here to view the Diversity Strategy Updated March 2009
